Does the world really make so much sense going forward?
In director Atul Taishete's slick film about a devious heist, the telling is better in reverse. As the characters swim in the jumpy motion of a movie that has been wound backwards, the narrator slowly reveals the truth in a forward sequence, arriving at the same conclusion when narration and scene meet.
With a fatal game of Russian roulette, the film begins with the last one standing. A seemingly tough feat for the blind member of the team, but his role in the robbery proves to be his advantage. A cigarette unignites, the booty is redistributed and bodies rise from the dead. Too bad for the deceased that the reel must be rewound correctly and their fates are set.
In this sinisterly played story, when one prepares for the worst, luck is already on his side.
