GreenCine digs into the recent development that a rough copy of an extended version of the 1927 cult film, Metropolis, has been held by the Museo del Cine in Buenos Aires, including new scenes from which stills which were printed in the German newspaper, Die Zeit. The museum will work with the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation to restore the film.
Though the film is still incomplete, this is a fantastic discovery which will hopefully result in a not-too-distant re-release and re-appreciation of Fritz Lang's masterpiece.
