Ledger was such a talented actor, and he chose intriguing roles that defied his pretty face. I'm Not There, Candy and of course Brokeback Mountain display his ability to inhabit characters who rumble just below the surface, never requiring excessive dramatics to portray the raw nerve underneath. He had recently reunited with Terry Gilliam for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and has created much buzz for playing the Joker in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Batman sequel, The Dark Knight. It is sad to think that he will no longer be sharing his talents in the future.
I hope that his friends and family are able to find comfort in his memory during this time of mourning.

I agree - quite a talent and a sad loss for the industry. These early Hollywood deaths like his and Brad Renfroe earlier in the week remind me of the loss of River Phoenix all those years ago...sigh.
