In the quick n' dirty news biz, I didn't have the time or print space afforded for in-depth interviews with each filmmaker attending the Festival of Native Film and Culture. However, I was able to shoot e-Q&A's from British Columbia to Sweden and the directors were happy to oblige. As only snippets were used in the article, read their full responses to learn about the power of improv and the nearly indefinable quality of yoiking (I am absolutely fascinated by the latter and so upset that I wasn't able to attend that screening).
