Bionic boy's heroes

Following the screening of No Questions Asked, film historian Joel Blumberg interviewed Richard Anderson for the nitty gritty. Anderson discussed acting advice given to him by greats in the biz:
Gary Cooper: “Don’t know too much about that, but don’t ever get caught doing it.”
Walter Houston: “Nothin’ to it, my boy. Put on a good show and always travel first class.”

In regards to Paths of Glory, Anderson left his MGM contract early in order to work on it. He says of director Stanley Kubrick that he was tough, but very enterprising and ambitious. Kubrick was interested in every camera angle and getting the best cast possible. Supposedly the studio requested a happy ending but never read the script after they requested a rewrite and so failed to notice when Kubrick failed to oblige. This is a brilliant piece of work, if you have not seen it.
