Ebert out

As expected considering Roger Ebert's health problems of recent years, he has now officially left his post on "At the Movies" (pompous Richard Roeper apparently fussed over money). He was all thumbs anyways (hardyharhar).

I may not have always agreed with his reviews, but there's no denying the man knows his stuff. I attended a three day analysis of Citizen Kane that he hosted at the Savannah Film Fest, and he couldn't have been any friendlier or treated the audience with more respect as he invited discussion (and admitted to picking up a few things he hadn't noticed before). I e-mailed him afterwards and he sent very kind encouragement regarding my reviews, and I'm sure he had better things to do.

Ebert's a nice guy, and I wish him the best in health and happiness.
