It may not be the Village Roadshow, but upscale and arty theatres are recognizing their adult audiences by serving alcohol.
The two art house theatres (the lovely Camelot Theatres & Cinémas Palme d'Or) in my neck of the woods serve alcohol without trouble. Their audiences are often more mature than the usual blockbuster followers and can handle the responsibility.
