It's not the years, it's the mileage

Sitting in a midnight screening of the latest addition to the Indiana Jones saga, we were expecting to be surrounded by folks our age -- grown kids who grew up on the stuff. My best earliest memory of attending a movie is seeing Raiders at the drive-in, and I still get happy goose bumps whenever I hear the theme music.

But these fellow movie geeks were not thirtysomethings, or even twentysomethings...they were high schoolers. And then it hit me -- the last movie in the trilogy was 19 years ago; these kids were not even born yet. I'm feeling my age, and I'm not that old.

Well, at least they have good taste (even if they were probably just there for Shia).

A new generation of Indian fans! Yay. Carlos is hugely into Star Wars...At least our childhood movies are beloved - can't wait to see the new one.

A. Sue:

A tired man in a tired role, huffing and puffing his way to...what? Saving the world once again? Harrison is always good and fortunately the film let him be old and tired, but still... What was the point of even making the film? The various crises were more than improbable, and the film reflected the current trend in Hollywood - AK47s aimed at the enemy, billions of bullets fired, and NO ONE GETS HIT. Come on, guys. Give us a little believeability amongst the fantasy.
