In 1970, director Leonard Kastle took a stab at filming the true story of lovers who cleaned up by clearing out the singles' ads in The Honeymoon Killers. In this version, the actors are unknown and the chemistry is lacking.
Looks like it's time for a revamp. Lonely Hearts will be hitting the theatres soon, with actors both well known and attractive. It's far easier to buy into a romance between Jared Leto and Salma Hayek than the previous cast's offerings. Looks like the focus will be on the investigative work by John Travlota's character, rather than solely focusing on the lovers.
Relatively unknown director Todd Robinson coincidentally did a doc a few years back about ballerina Marta Becket. The killer here is Martha Beck, so maybe he just got stuck in the name game. Or maybe this is the name game (sorry, I get distracted).
